Are you a travel company?
No. We simply host business retreats. We have found that business leaders love to travel, and they would like nothing more than to be able to incorporate some business inspiration and education into their trip, and also allowing them the potential to write off part of their trip as an expense. WHAT ARE THE MASTERCLASS SESSIONS ABOUT?
Our masterclass sessions and round table discussions cover curated topics that revolve around leadership challenges and creative problem solving. As CEO’s ourselves, we have found that it’s lonely at the top, and there was a need to provide retreats where we could discuss the challenges we face, as well as ideas on how to change things within our business to improve and grow. Our format allows for conversations and idea sharing. No two retreats are ever the same, check your itinerary for the session topics.
WHO WILL ATTEND?
Well, you, we hope! This retreat was created for CEO’s and professionals, and we actively seek and filter attendees to ensure that they share a passion for business, leadership and of course, great food and wine.
CAN MY SPOUSE/PARTNER ATTEND?
Yes! At our retreats, you can come here with your spouse or partner and they can enjoy the same beautiful villa, meals and beverages as you, plus we have other activities they can enjoy while you attend the masterclass sessions. Simply choose the Spouse/Partner add on cost when you book. One catch, they have to share the bed with you, so choose wisely.
IS TONIC A RELIABLE COMPANY?
Yes! The hosts and owners of Tonic are leaders in their industries, each with over three decades of business experience and extensive travel and leadership knowledge. We are very transparent about who we are on our About Us page, and you can easily reach us by phone, video call or text listed at the bottom of this page to speak to us in person. You can also find us on LinkedIn, and if you are still hesitant, we are happy to provide a list of references you can call or email to verify our identities and our qualifications, which we can provide after our call together.
Retreat Questions
Is my airfare or transportation included?
No. We do not include nor book any airfare or transportation, and you are solely responsible for making your own travel arrangements to arrive at the retreat at the scheduled start time, and leave at the scheduled end time. After you book you will receive a Welcome Package that explains details on how to get there. Do not book any transportation or airfare until you read it. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect you from anything that would prevent you from arriving to the retreat on time. Check our Terms and Conditions for details.
DO YOU BOOK ACCOMMODATIONS?
No. We are not a travel company. You are responsible for booking all your own accommodations and ensuring you have travel insurance. However, while you attend the retreat, you are invited to stay with us, in the private villa. We will have a private bedroom set aside for you, and will be hosting you while you attend the retreat. Check our Terms and Conditions for details.
Are meals and beverages included?
Heck yes! What kind of hosts would we be if we didn’t feed our guests? You are in for a real treat here, and this is one of the things that makes our retreats truly special. Lucky for us, one of our retreat hosts is a private chef, and will prepare a set menu of all our meals and snacks. Alongside that will be water, tea, coffee, local wines, beers and cocktails to enjoy throughout the day.
How long are the daily sessions?
We want you to enjoy your time, and have curated each day to have a mix of business and relaxation. Sessions range in duration depending on the topic being covered, but will not total more than 2-3 hours out of your day. The remainder of your day can be spent relaxing, exploring the area or participating in some of our scheduled activities which are outlined in your itinerary. And of course, joining around the table together for dinner.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Unfortunately, we can not accommodate strict dietary restrictions such as vegan, gluten free, lactose free, or celiac. The meals are prepared based on what is currently in season in the area and planned ahead of arrival. You must inform us about your requests to see if we will be able to revise our meals. If you have severe allergies or reactions we can not guarantee that crossover contamination of ingredients won’t happen. Please make us aware of any allergies at the time of booking. All our meals are all served family style, and there will be a variety of plates and options on the table, so you have the option to only serve yourself the dishes that you like or enjoy. We strongly advise Travel Insurance and please read our Terms and Conditions for more.
What are the mobility and activity levels?
We can not accommodate guests with mobility issues in our private villa. There could be uneven walking surfaces, stairs, gravel and grass areas, and small spaces which people with mobility problems would not able to navigate. We offer optional activities which involve mild to moderate activity. Please ensure you can participate and have read our Terms and Conditions before booking.
What if the weather is bad?
We never know what kind of weather we’ll get, but we make sure that all masterclasses and meals can be held indoor if needed. We can not guarantee the weather will be ideal to enjoy the outdoors, be sure to check the weather before attending to bring the appropriate clothing and umbrellas. A little (or a lot) of rain never stopped us from enjoying our beautiful villa and exploring the surrounding area. Check our Terms and Conditions for details about extreme weather events.
What type of room will I have?
Because this is a private home and not a hotel or booked accommodation, we can not guarantee what type of room you’ll be staying in, and the types of rooms will vary. This is Europe, so beds, rooms and bathrooms may be smaller or different than you are used to in North America. You will be provided your own private bedroom with a double, queen or king bed as well as easy access to bathrooms and/or your own private ensuite, depending on the villa layout. Please arrive with the understanding that you are being hosted in someone’s private home, not a hotel, and that the bedrooms will each be different and sometimes smaller (or larger) than other guests. We will ensure that you are provided fresh towels and freshly cleaned bedding on your first day, but daily clean towels, maid or turndown service is not provided.
Are Children Allowed?
Sorry, no. This is an adults only business retreat. All attendees and their accompanying spouses/companions must be over the age of 21 to attend.
Deposits and Payments
How do I secure my spot?
Our retreats are small, so in order to secure your spot you must pay a 50% non-refundable deposit for yourself and your accompanying spouse/partner. Final payment is due 120 days prior to the retreat start date. If final payment is not made by that date, your spot will be filled with another person on our wait list. Please ensure you have read our Terms and Conditions before booking.
HOW DO I CANCEL MY RETREAT OR WHAT IF I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND?
Deposits on retreats are non-refundable. If you cancel prior to 120 days in advance of the start date, you will not be responsible for paying the remaining 50% and your seat will be released to the wait list. If you cancel 120 days or later, 100% of your retreat is non-refundable. We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance to protect yourself in the event that you are unable to arrive to the event on the start date. Please ensure you have read our Terms and Conditions before booking.
What if Tonic cancels a retreat?
If a retreat is cancelled due to insufficient amount of attendees or situations beyond our control, the refund will be as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
What type of payment do you take?
We accept all major credit cards as shown on our checkout page. A receipt from Tonic Group Limited will be issued for your business retreat.
